The Ultimate Rhubarb Gin Recipe

You might have noticed recently the popularity of Rhubarb gin rocket, and although it tastes amazing it doesn't come cheap (especially in a London bar) even a standard bottle from the supermarket can set you back around £30-£40 and let's be honest if your family and friends drink anything like mine do that won't last 10 seconds. Luckily we've been working on a recipe that will cost you just £10 per bottle to make and tastes better than anything you can buy off the shelf, so you can be well stocked up for your wedding or party.

Rhubarb Gin Recipe


400g fresh Rhubarb
50g Sugar
1 bottle Gin (Supermarket home brand)
1 Lemon
Pink food colouring (Optional)


Ok, let's begin! Start by chopping the Rhubarb into small chunks (the redder the Rhubarb the better as this will be the colouring of the gin) Sterilise a glass jar by cleaning it with boiling water and leave to dry. Add the sugar, lemon and Rhubarb into the jar and shake well. Finish by pouring in the Gin and shake. Store in a cool dark place and shake every day for 1-2 weeks depending on taste. After the desired time, strain the Gin 4-5 times to get rid of any bits from the Rhubarb and add the pink food colouring depending on how coloured you want your Gin. Drink within 3 months (That won't be difficult)
